Consultation on  Building Safety Levy

This consultation seeks views on the design and calculation of the proposed Building Safety Levy, through which developers will make an important contribution to remedy historical building safety defects.   

The Consultation covers the following areas: 

  1. Design of the Levy 

  1. Levy calculation 

  1. Potential housing supply impacts 

  1. Process and timings 

  1. Incentives and sanctions 

  1. Reviews and appeals 

Why your views matter

We are introducing a levy on developers who seek regulatory permission to build certain high rise residential buildings – “Gateway 2”.
